A Cox Enterprises’ “newbie” launched a Change Community out of desperation for a sense of connection…and ended up creating a movement.

As a new employee to Cox Enterprises – and a new employee to working in “industry” after 22 years as a consultant – I didn’t know many people in the company or in my functional area and wanted ways to connect and start building relationships. Out of this need for connection, the Cox Change Community was born. Started in October 2015 with 16 people who were passionate about leading change, today the Community has more than 90 named members from across the enterprise. Our membership includes people from Business Analytics to HR, from Strategy to Marketing, from IT to Benefits and Compensation, from Operations to Learning & Development. Our purpose? To facilitate a self-sustaining shared change culture within Cox that leads and readily adopts change in order to connect our businesses, drive them forward and achieve the return on their business investment.

BIO

Erika Mookerjie is Director of Change Leadership for Cox Enterprises, a leading communications, media and automotive services company.

Erika is responsible for preparing employees for the changes brought by enterprise-wide programs. She advises executives and change practitioners about how to lead change effectively and build change capability in our workforce. Her focus is creating strong connections among our Change Leadership practitioners and other interested participants to create a self-sustaining shared change culture for the company.

In 2015, Erika launched the Cox Change Community, comprising employees from each division who wished to connect and learn more about Change Leadership. In 2018, she created the Change Leadership Network within the company, which brings together the knowledge and experience of those employees whose day-to-day work is predominantly Change Leadership-focused.

Prior to Cox, Erika spent 22 years in management and technology consulting with North Highland, Computer Sciences Corporation and Ernst & Young.

She is a graduate of Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) with a degree in International Economics. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and was part of Georgia’s Women in Technology (WIT) for five years. Erika spends much of her time outside of work keeping up with her young twin boys.
