ACMP Atlanta Chapter Status Approved
January 17, 2017
2017 is off with a bang for ACMP Atlanta. The chapter completed all start up activities and on January 17, 2017, ACMP Atlanta joins ACMP Global as an official chapter.
It required lots of hard work, dedication, and persistence. From President Brian Davis, "I’m excited and proud of our board and chapter members to make this a reality. It’s been a long 6 – months since a lunch table meeting at ACMP Global Conference in Texas to chapter status and to now sign paperwork to recognize us as an official chapter with over 30 members.”
Becoming a chapter is not a simple online form! It requires registering with the state, setting up bank accounts, tax forms, and filing for 501(c)3 status. Even more, it requires members to begin affiliating with ACMP Atlanta and hosting a kickoff event. The board hosted an event in November 2016 to gain support from the community, and it has been fantastic! We have 5 committees up and running:
- Events and Programming
- Partners and Sponsorship
When reflecting on the overall process, President Brian Davis said, “The process has been really gratifying personally as we’ve gotten to meet more people in change management and have a platform to talk about our practice and to learn from other practitioners. There has been an incredibly positive response to starting this chapter.”
